Anybody want to figure out what the hell is going on with our economy these days? A good place to start would be "On the Edge with Economist Dr. Ayse Somersan: An Economic Forum," which goes down Monday at the Golden Apple Dinner Theater. Hosting the event is the Southwest Florida Coalition for Peace and Justice and television's The Edge (not the one from U2). Somersan, professor emeritus and dean of the University of Wisconsin, will join panelists including Waldo Proffitt, political editor emeritus at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Dr. Frank Alcock, political science professor at New College, and Chris Wille, editorial page editor at the Bradenton Herald. The forum will be moderated by WMNF news director Rob Lorei and The Edge's Augi Schmitz. Doors at 6 p.m., forum at 7, Mon., Nov. 2, Golden Apple Dinner Theater, 25 N. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota, 586-6839 or swfcpj.org, $20 includes hors d'oeuvres.
