TODAY’S CREATIVE LOVING PROFILE
This Saturday Habitat for Humanity Sarasota will celebrate the completion of its 79-home community on Eighth Street: Jordan's Crossing. The nonprofit home-building organization is throwing the party to pay tribute to all the volunteers, donors and sponsors who have helped to put low-income, working families into high-quality, affordable homes since the project's first house was built in 2002. The event will feature live music, food, amusements and awards for outstanding achievement in the field of volunteering excellence. Make sure to come out and congratulate all the local folks who work to make a house a home. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat., Nov. 7, Tuttle Elementary School Playground, 2863 Eighth St., Sarasota, 487-5510 or sarasotahabitat.com, free.
