Imagine looking down and finding some fine art on the sidewalk. Score! You can do it this weekend at the 2nd Annual Burns Square "Avenida de Colores" Chalk Festival. The theme for the festival is Flora, the goddess of spring, who's known for her sensual seduction. Over 30 professional street painters will travel from all over the country to chalk it up on South Pineapple Avenue alongside 20 Sarasota artists. The Children Chalk Area let's the kiddie's paint their own two-by-two squares and has face-painting, balloon artists and magicians. The event is chalk full of great bands and Nancy's BBQ, 5One6 Burns and Esca will be serving the grub. 9 a.m.-midnight Sat., May 2 and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sun., May 3, Along South Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota, free, avenidadecolores.com.
